Background

One of 21st frontier R&D programs sponsored by Ministry of Education, Sciences and Technology (MEST) in Korea, which target for the development of major strategic and competitive technology areas through 'select and focus' strategy for the purpose of securing worldwide competitiveness.

The program of nanoscale mechatronics and manufacturing was initiated in 2002 for commercialization and industrialization of nanotechnology as one of the key technical areas, which is expected to strengthen international competitiveness of Korea..

The program consists of three phases (3-4 years for each phase) for total 10 years, and aims at the development of nanoscale mechatronics and manufacturing processes and related equipments.
CNMM is located in Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM)
