Director's Message |
|
The era of nanotechnology has already started.
Nanoproducts such as zeolite in oil refinery, stain-less and wrinkle-free clothes, glass coats, sun blocks have been successfully commercialized, and their market share is noticeably increasing.
Nanoproducts should be producible cheaper, smarter, and faster in order to be commercially viable, so that the development of mass-producible manufacturing processes and fabrication equipments is required urgently. That is what this center is seeking for. |
| |
| This R&D program aims at not only improving currently available manufacturing technology in semiconductor industry, not also developing new types of process mechanisms and fabrication equipments for nanoscale products whose minimum feature sizes is in the range of between 100 nm and 10 nm. |
| |
| These manufacturing processes and equipments will be widely applied in electronics, optics, biotechnology, micro systems, etc. |
| |
I'd like to nurture a characteristic group culture for the success of this program.
I will set up environments to allow all research members to conduct self-motivated, interested, and valuable R&D works. Also, I will try to develop novel human network systems on which all all involved researchers can share their informations, values and interests by understanding and trusting each other. That will lead to formation of effective cooperation team work in CNMM. |
| |
Finally, I cordially thank all of you, especially Ministry of Education, Sciences and Technology (MEST), KOREA.
I'll do my best to achieve successfully the goals committed to this center. |
